Physiological:
There is a moderate fluctuation during the 24 hours of about 4 per cent, probably related to exercise, meals, and fluid intake, others.
Strong emotions such as FEAR, ANGER, EXCITEMENT, cause a temporary increase in the red cell count. A similar increase follows abdominal massage, cold showers, others. Probably red cells sequestered in the SPLEEN are released into the CIRCULATION.
